How Timed Wordle works

This mode rewards quick, informed guesses. You start with 30 seconds. Every solved word adds 15 seconds, then a fresh word appears and your streak continues.

Make time work for you

Use the opening guess to reveal several letters, then act on the colours without waiting for a perfect answer. When the board has narrowed the options, a reasonable solution attempt is often better than another slow exploratory word. Keep an eye on the clock: it continues while you think.

Time example

Solve the first word after 12 seconds and 18 seconds remain. The 15-second bonus raises the next round to 33 seconds. If the next word takes 20 seconds, you have 13 seconds left, then receive another bonus for a total of 28 seconds.

Common causes of a short run

Long pauses on the first word, ignoring yellow letters, and submitting an invalid-length word all waste the resource that matters here: time.
