Hard Wordle rules
Hardcore mode makes each clue binding. You have five attempts, and every revealed letter must be used in your next guess. It turns a hint into a constraint rather than an optional lead.
Use every confirmed clue
Keep a green letter in its confirmed slot. Include a yellow letter again, but move it from the position that was tested. The game will reject a word that ignores revealed information, so check the board before submitting. You may still change all other letters to test a better candidate.
Example
If S is green at the beginning and A is yellow, the next valid guess begins with S and contains A somewhere other than its previous position. A word without either clue cannot be submitted in this mode.
A common misunderstanding
“Use the clue” does not mean “repeat the previous word.” The goal is to preserve what you know while changing enough letters to distinguish between the remaining answers.
